JOEL RAY – CHAIRMAN AND CEO

Joel Ray has a gift for growing companies. In 1974, he graduated from the University of Texas and began a healthcare career with Associated Optical. In 1984, he became CEO of Associated Optical, and shortly thereafter, created Coast to Coast Vision™. In 1990, he founded New Benefits, and built it into the nation's leading provider of discount medical and lifestyle benefits.

At New Benefits, Mr. Ray invested in state-of-the-art variable data printing technology, full-service administration, plus an insurance agency licensed in 50 states. With the acquisition of miQuotes.com, an online insurance quoting platform, Mr. Ray has positioned New Benefits, through technology, for its next growth phase.


TERRY RAY – PRESIDENT

Terry Ray creates a dazzling corporate culture. After 11 years with Xerox, seven years with Apple, and a two-year stint as Executive Director of a 35,000 member non-profit association, she joined New Benefits in 1995 and was named President five years later.

Today, Terry actively promotes the company's culture and capabilities through speaking engagements and numerous articles in industry publications. But she is best known for creating and implementing the acclaimed Dare to Dazzle™ program that teaches the practical and philosophical aspects of how to consistently "Wow!" customers.


MARTI POWLES – EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

Marti Powles streamlines processes. Prior to joining New Benefits in 1993, she lead a national association management company where she oversaw teams working in computer databases, graphic design, commissions, accounting, payroll, financial statements and tax preparation functions.

Early in her career at New Benefits, Marti proved to be talented at creating new processes. Today, she is responsible for ensuring seamless integration between departments, overseeing all operations, and developing new processes to support the company’s strategic plans. She also works with clients and vendors to streamline transmission and processing of membership eligibility, reporting and accounting systems.


GREG SCHLATTER – EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Greg Schlatter knows benefits. He began his career 30 years ago as an independent property and casualty agent, and quickly moved up the ranks to sales and management. As Regional Vice President and Marketing Director of a MetLife subsidiary, he realized that insurance sold in the workplace should not be held captive to the traditional methods of worksite marketing.

Greg founded miQuotes.com to provide employer groups and associations the ability to offer quality individual insurance options without the need for payroll deductions, list billing, on-site enrollments or strict participation guidelines. New Benefits gladly welcomed Greg to the team in 2007. His wealth of benefit experience and unique perspective are key to driving the discount business development.
